- Mendeley - A very intuitive free tool for cataloging references and generating Latex citations as well as word citations. The website also allows imports from various sites. Also for the lazy bones like me the software even organizes the papers year wise on the hard drive.
- Jabref - Another free tool for managing references. Very simple to use with no chills and frills, it has been around for some time and is very good.
